Dr Mary Sommerlad, FRCP, is a distinguished Consultant Dermatologist at the award-winning Self London Clinic where she is renowned for her expertise in managing pigmentary disorder ssuch as melasma and photo-ageing and in laser dermatology. With a personalised evidence-based approach, she strives to foster enduring relationships with patients, prioritising healthy skin alongside addressing skin concerns. She is as comfortable recommending an effective skincare routine as she is managing complex medical dermatology cases. Graduating from UCL with a First Class intercalated BSc in Immunology, she completed her Dermatology training at the Royal London and Royal Free during which time she was awarded the Royal Society of Medicine trainee prize twice. Recognized for her expertise in skin of colour dermatology, she contributes to clinical research and teaching, with publications in esteemed peer reviewed journals and frequent speaking engagements at academic meetings. As an advocate for healthy skin, Dr Mary serves as an ambassador for the British Skin Foundation and has appeared on the BBC One Series 'Skin'.
